Job Posting: Veterinary Technician, Pet Nanny

Job Descriptions:

RECEPTIONISTS

Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, setting up new clients and patients, preparation and maintenance of medical records, admitting and discharging patients, filling some prescriptions, over the counter sales, ,mailings, computer operation, financial transactions, filing, and front office and reception area maintenance.  Receptionists will assume the responsibility for acquiring the medical and legal information necessary for the performance of their duties.  Experience in a veterinary office or in an animal care facility is preferred.

VETERINARY TECHNICIANS

Technicians are responsible for hospital maintenance, assisting the doctors, laboratory procedures, radiology, client communication, medical procedures, pharmacy, operation and maintenance of instruments and equipment, inventory, daily treatment of hospitalized patients, rehabilitation, assisting in the operating room and maintenance of the OSHA and Hazardous Materials programs.  Experience and/or a veterinary technician degree is required.
Job Skills:
* Administer anesthesia to animals, under the direction of a veterinarian, and monitor animals' responses to anesthetics so that dosages can be adjusted.
* Care for and monitor the condition of animals recovering from surgery.
* Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, and materials.
* Collect, prepare, and label samples for laboratory testing, culture, or microscopic examination.
* Fill prescriptions, measuring medications and labeling containers.
* Perform catheterizations, ear flushes, intravenous feedings, enemas.
* Maintain controlled drug inventory and related log books.
* Observe the behavior and condition of animals, and monitor their clinical signs.
* Perform dental work such as cleaning, polishing, and extracting teeth.
* Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, serums, and treatments, as prescribed by veterinarians.
* Take and develop diagnostic radiographs using digital x-ray equipment.
* Assist with physical examinations by performing such duties as obtaining temperature, pulse, and respiration data.

VETERINARY ASSISTANTS

Assistants are responsible for the care of hospitalized patients, maintaining the cleanliness of the hospital areas and equipment, assisting the doctors and technicians.  Experience or a veterinary assistant degree required.

PET NANNIES

Pet Nannies are responsible for the care of pets staying in our pet hotel.  Nannies walk, feed, clean after our guests.  Nannies also take care of all exercise, play times and may help with baths.  Nannies help maintain the cleanliness of the facility.  Experience with animals is required.

PROFESSIONAL GROOMER

Groomers are responsible for all baths, trims, cuts on both dogs and cats.  Groomers should have both the educational training and experience.  We have an established clientele.
